Silver Reproduction. Imperial Eagle Helmet Mount for an Imperial Italic Helmet. 1st to 2nd Century AD. 4 ½ x 6 centimeters (wingspan).

There are many depictions of the Imperial Roman Eagle on statues, seals, and coins which represent the power of Rome. However this Imperial Eagle Helmet Mount was in essence not a representation but the actual authority and power of the Roman Empire.

The Imperial Eagle was worn on the front of the helmet of an Emperor who commanded all Roman Legions; a General who had several Legions in his command; a Legionary Legate who had 5,000 to 6,000 men in his Legion; or a Prefect of the Praetorian Guard who had 10,000 Praetorians in his charge.

This eagle helmet mount is from a mold of the original item and has had the beak restored to its original grandeur. It is made of 925 silver and is mounted on a metal pole seated on a wooden stand.

Item # R2

Silver and Gold Plate Reproduction Pendant of Phalerae (medal) of an Officer. 1st cent AD. 6 centimeters in diameter.

This is a reproduction of an officer's medal of the XV Apollinaris, that had been stationed in Pannonia early on in the 1st century. The image depicted on the medal is of their namesake god Apollo and bears a striking resemblance to their founder Augustus as a young man. Medals were worn attached to leather harness straps that were in turn attached to the legionary belt and were always placed below the chest to the waist. The chest part of the decorations were reserved for, but not always used for, a chest boss and if earned could be flanked by torques. This is very high Greco/Roman art.

Medal made of 925 silver and gold plate from a mold of the original item. Wear this Legionary pendant medal and have No Fear.

Price: $160.00 US

Click for a larger image of Imperial Roman Navy ring Item # R4

Silver Reproduction of Imperial Roman Navy ring. 2nd to 3rd cent AD.

This ring has the traditional anchor flanked by stylized dolphins. From the viewing of dozens of Roman legionary items with this symbol it appears that the Anchor flanked by Dolphins was used by the Epi Beta (Fleet Legionaries or Marines) of Legion II Adiutrix. This legion had been formed by Vespasian from Sailors and Marines from the Western Fleet Headquartered at Ravenna. It appears that the II Adiutrix earned it's eagle as the legion was retained by Vespasian. This legion was later stationed in Britain but was then moved to various locations on the Danube. At least a portion of the legion seems to have been doing River Patrolling and working with Legion IV Flavia Felix. The original ring is now in a private collection in San Diego USA, but Roman Officer has retained the mold for this item. This Ring is made of 925 silver from a mold of the original item. Hey, put this ring on and Sail the Danube looking for Barbarian Trouble Makers as these Bad Boys once did.
